Goddess Pratyangira Devi is a mighty goddess that emerged from one of the wings of Sarabheswara, a manifestation of Lord Shiva, and is a combination of lion and human. Depicted with the face of a lion and a body of a woman, the goddess is also called Narasimhika, a female version of Lord Narasimha or Atharvana Bhadrakali, a name she derived as she rules the Atharva Veda. She appears when justice is being denied and can control all problems with ease. The deity is a supreme power that’s truth personified and helps those who seek justice. She can be worshipped for dharmic (universal law of nature or cosmic order) purposes and other noble reasons.
According to Kali Saharanama Stotra, when Narasimhika shakes her mane, she throws the stars into disarray. Her Beeja Akshara mantra is ‘Ksham’. Also, in a Rig Veda chapter called Kila Kandam, a Suktam named Pratyangira Suktam exists which glorifies Her personification. The goddess is also associated with Sri Chakra.
