Kalashtami is dedicated to Lord Kala Bhairava and is observed on Krishna Paksha Ashtami Tithi the eighth day after full moon. Lord Shiva clips a small portion of his nail and there appears Lord Kala Bhairava and personifies the fierce side of Lord Shiva.
