Hayagriva Jayanthi – A Day to Achieve Great Heights in Learning and Wisdom
Hayagriva Jayanthi falls on August 03, 2020 and marks the day when the unique form of Hayagriva — half human and half horse — salvaged the stolen Vedas from demons, Madhu and Kaitabha who hid it deep inside the ocean. To recover the sacred literature, Lord Vishnu manifested as Lord Hayagriva. The image of Lord Hayagriva looks resplendent in white robes, seated on a white lotus. He taught the Vedas to Lord Brahma and Goddess Saraswathi.
Lord Hayagriva, the Protector of Vedas & Lord of Knowledge & Wisdom
Lord Hayagriva, a manifestation of Lord Vishnu is the protector of Vedas. Haya means horse and griva means neck and the inimitable deity came into existence on the day of Shravana Pournami which is also observed as Upakarma or Avani Avittam. This day is very auspicious for changing the sacred thread worn by Brahmins, the Poonal. Hayagriva is the epitome of knowledge, wisdom, where Brahma and Goddess Saraswathi reside. He’s the Vedas put together and therefore the god of knowledge and wisdom.
Goddess Lakshmi, Bestower of Unlimited Wealth In Life
Goddess Lakshmi is considered as a powerful goddess who plays a key role in accumulating more wealth to lead an affluent life.
