Dehastha Devata Chakra Homam

Ganesh Homam - The ritual is performed as Lord Ganesh allows the devotee to enter inside the temple of his own body. The benevolent lord bestows all kinds of boons. Lord Ganesh is Adi Bhagwan and should be worshiped first to remove obstacles, and life problems, and nullify bad karma, and malefic effects of Mercury and Ketu. Invoking the lord helps to attain wealth, and success, enhances health, and purifies mind, body, and soul. It also attracts auspiciousness and immense positivity.

Vatukanatha Homam - Lord Vatukanatha resides at the door of the temple of the body in the form of Apana or the ingoing breadth. His divine feet are worshipped by Viras, Siddhas, and yoginis. Worshipping the lord removes all knots of life, and doubts in the minds of devotees.

Bhairavanatha Homam – The lord who dwells in the centre of the heart. The goddess of Indriyas, who are in search of pleasant sounds, soft touch, delicious tastes, fragrant perfumes, and beautiful forms offer these at the feet of Lord Bhairavanatha. The devotee experiences the universe consisting of pain, sorrow, and pleasure which leads to Lord Shiva, i.e., the Homam helps to realise the Supreme Consciousness.

Ananda Bhairavi Homam – The goddess creates, maintains, and destroys the universe within her. She is inseparable from Lord Shiva. Filled with the energy of awareness, the mother resides near the seat of the lord in the lotus of the heart. She removes fear, tensions, worries, unnatural deaths and disrepute. Her worship enhances progeny, family happiness, harmony and peace in home.

Brahmani Homam – The goddess of the intellect Brahmani resides in the east direction. She confirms all perceptions of the outside world and offers them like flowers to Lord Shiva, who is seated in the heart lotus. Invoking the goddess avoids stress, obstacles, fights between couples and attracts love, care and courage to face challenges.

Sambhavi Homam – The goddess is the embodiment of ahamkara (ego) who eternally worships Lord Shiva by offering flowers of I (ego) at His lotus feet in the petals of Agni. The goddess balances the Pratia and Apana, the energies of the sun and moon. She removes impurities and bestows positivity, prosperity, and success.

Kaumari Homam– The embodiment of mind, situated in the southern petal (that of Yama), Kaumari offers flowers of diverse thought, ideas, and notions to Bhairava. Kaumari when invoked grants blessings of power to overcome struggles and to grant relief from diseases and frustration.

Vaishnavi Homam – Goddess Vaishnavi is the embodiment of hearing, situated in the direction of Nirrti or southwest. She collects a garland of beautiful sounds and worships Bhairavanatha on the lotus of my heart. Vaishnavi helps to overcome all sorts of dangers and frequent mishaps in life.

Varahi Homam – Goddess Varahi represents the sense of touch, she’s situated in the western petal and pleases the lord of the heart with flowers of touch. Goddess Varahi wards away evil eye casting, black magic, and all negative energies and misfortunes in life.

Indrani Homam - Present in the northwest petal of the heart lotus, which is the abode of the Maruts or Vayu or wind gods, she denotes a vibrating force of sight, and she worships Lord Bhairava with excellent forms that please the eye. Rituals to Indrani bless devotees with complete joy in life.

Chamunda Homam – Goddess Chamunda is strongly seated in the northern abode of the Lord Of Treasure (Kubera). The deity with the protruding tongue is fond of experiencing the sixfold Rasas or tastes and offers them to Lord Bhairava in the heart. Venerating the goddess bestows a person with power and supremacy to achieve all endeavors with success.

Mahalakshmi Homam – Seated in the Isana corner (northeast), goddess Mahalakshmi is fond of good scents and perfume and embodies the sense of smell, worships Bhairavanatha with the fragrances. Mahalakshmi Homam grants abundance of wealth, and materialistic possessions, builds moral and ethical values, spiritual knowledge, intellectual growth, and endless prosperity.

Kshetrapala Homam – The poet pays respects to the temple guards (the heart lotus) who are situated in the aura of the body. They are adored in the six systems of philosophy, representing the 36 elements, they also symbolise the Atma and their duty is to protect from all sides. The protector of places, Kshetrapala safeguards a territory, or individual, and invoking the lord gives success in all ventures.
