The Kasi Viswanath Temple is the first among all the Jyothirlingas of the country. Situated in the holy town of Varanasi, it’s said to be the holy abode of Lord Shiva and his consort Parvati on Earth. The Ganges flows in the region which has 64 bathing ghats and those taking a dip in it are purified of all sins.

Kashi Vishwanath Jyotirlinga Homam will be performed on the day of Guru Pradosham as it falls on a Thursday. It’s a day to fetch ancestral blessings and thrash negative effects of karma. Worshipping Lord Shiva and his forms on this day also bestows with knowledge and wisdom. The day also coincides with Masik Shivratri which is also auspicious to venerate the lord.

The Kasi Viswanathar energy centre is situated in Kumbakonam, in the state of Tamil Nadu, India, and is an important shrine that is connected to the story of Kumbakonam and the Mahamaham festival. It’s believed that river goddesses, Ganga, Yamuna, Saraswati, Godavari, Narmada, Cauvery, Tungabhadra, Krishna, and Sarayu complained to the lord of Kashi that they were getting impure due to the devotees bathing in them to wash off their sins.
