In Vedic Astrology, known as ‘Jyotish’ in Sanskrit, the 27 constellations (Nakshatras) determines the core of celestial influences on our planet. Ancient Vedic observers saw these stars forming a necklace and they are called as 27-Tauri (Atlas) Eta-Tauri (Alcyone) 23-Tauri (Merope), 17 –Tauri (Electra) 29-Tauri (Pleione) 19-Tauri (Taygeta) & 20-Tauri (Maia). These stars are very easily visible in the night sky because of their close proximity with each other and Alcyone is the brightest among them with a visual magnitude of 2.88. These starts lie in the region to the right of the bright star Alpha-Tauri (Rohini)
