Sankara and Ramanuja: Great Philosophical Gurus Of Ancient India

Adi Shankarara Jayanthi is the birth anniversary of the great Indian saint and philosopher Adi Shankara. He was born in Kalady in Kerala thousands of years ago. It is observed on Shukla Paksha Pancahmi of Vaishaka month that this year it falls on April 20, 2018. it is said that he is an incarnation of Lord Shiva who was born at a time when spirituality was dwindling and numerous sects sprang up confusing people, spreading blind superstitions. Adi Shakara enlightened the people through his peaceful, unpretentious and love-filled preachings. Besides Adi Shankara, Madhava and Ramanuja are other great stalwarts of Indian Vedic philosophy. Adi Shankara propagated Advaita Vedanta and Dashanami Sampradaya with great intelligence and clarity of thought.

Ramanuja Jayanthi marks the birth anniversary of a great Indian philosopher who was born in the 11th century in Sriperumbudur near Chennai. He was earlier known by the names of Lakshmana Muni and ethirajar. This year his anniversary is being celebrated on April 21, 2018.  His philosophy is called Vashishta Advaita which means combining oneness of god with its special attributes. He advocated the freedom to choose one or more personal deities and reach Brahman through Bhakti or devotion. He found various establishments to proliferate the worship of Lord Vishnu and his consort Mahalakshmi.

Jupiter Represents North-East Direction

If Jupiter is malefic or enters the house of its enemy, then the native becomes a sinner, having an unstable mind with a medium life span. He/she is childless, ungrateful, having false pride, forsakes his relatives and well wishers, likes to travel and is hostile to others.

Jupiter denotes the North-East direction. Those who are acquainted with Vaastu are aware of the most auspicious corner of a plot, known as ‘Eeshan’, where an image of the Lord one worships is kept for daily prayers.

Jupiter provides good results if placed in houses 1, 5, 8, 9 and 12, but 6th, 7th and the 10th are the bad houses for him. Jupiter gives harmful results when Venus or Mercury is placed in the 10th house of a horoscope. However, the planet never gives negative outcome if placed alone in any house. A malefic Jupiter affects the Ketu very adversely. Jupiter becomes baleful if he is placed with Saturn, Rahu or Ketu in a horoscope.
