Get All That You Want From Lalitha Homam

The term Lalitha means ‘one who plays’ and also means charmer.  Every aspect of Hers is delightful. She’s an embodiment of beauty and is the perfect consort of Kameshwara.

Goddess Lalitha or Shodashi is the third of the Mahavidyas, a symbol of purity and wholesomeness. She is the most beautiful of the three worlds and hence the name. She is represented as a sixteen-year-old girl who is believed to personify sixteen types of desires. And her mantra consists of the same number of syllables.

In Lalitha Sahasranamam, the Mother  is described as eternal, saffron-red in hue, having crown embedded with gems with Moon as an adornment over the head, three eyed, ever smiling, having high breasts, with hands holding jewelled wine cup and red flowers, ever soft and peaceful, with Her red lotus feet rested on a gem-decked pedestal. She is holding in her four arms, her traditional symbols, the sugarcane bow, flower arrows, noose and goad.

A Combination of Grace And Knowledge

Her body is well garlanded by numerous fine ornaments. Lalitha is also the representation of creation, preservation and destruction and considered as the image of sixteen modifications of desires. She sits on a lotus that is placed on a throne.

She is the consort of Lord Shiva and is the energy emerging out of His third eye. Even though she belongs to the Kali family, she is considered as the most important Maha Vidya. Goddess Lalitha is the combination of eternal grace, knowledge and determination. Thus she spreads the light of pleasure, sympathy and awareness for her devotees.

The Miraculous Power of Lalitha Sahasranamam

The goddess once summoned her peers of speech Aruna, Kameswari, Vasini, Kaulini, Vimala and Japini and asked them to create a powerful hymn of great quality, that when recited by a devotee grants all favours without delay. She also informed them that if a follower repeats it constantly and propagates it, the person becomes very dear and gets all wishes fulfilled.

She also says that she would be pleased if a devotee worships her on the Sri Chakra and repeats her mantra of fifteen syllables. Even if puja and japa are omitted, the recital of the divine psalm will please Her.  Henceforth, the supreme trinities, Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva and all other gods began reciting this powerful hymn to please this ultimate Goddess, Mother Lalitha.
