Who is Lord Maheshwara?

He is also known as Mahadev, Mahesh or Bholenath. He is a popular Hindu deity and is considered to be the Supreme God within Shaivism and is one of the most influential deities among the TRIGODS in Hinduism. He is regarded as the primary form of God and is the Destroyer and Transformer. He is also the symbolic embellishment of the Yoga and arts. Worshipped in the aniconic form of Lingam, his name means the limitless, transcendent, unchanging and formless.

The 12th form of Lord Rudra is "Lord Maheswara". According to Puranas the Lord of Supreme wants to begin the work of creation after the period of Pralaya, i.e. period of Dissolution or Non-existence. Though destruction takes place as part of the Loka but the Lord of Destruction decides to retain the Brahma Loka, Tapa Loka, Jana Loka and Mahar Loka, which was preserved. After Pralaya Lord Shiva keeps his re-creation energy to progress, giving rise to another form is as Lord Sadasiva, where Sada means "always" and Siva means "Lord Shiva", who after Pralaya is said to be the source energy of all creations. From this point, the recreation begins who evolved as "Swayambhu", means a form being the eternal, where there is no material existence or human power required and he evolves by himself as he is said to be the entire of the universe including all Vedas and Vedic Scriptures. This form as Swayambhu is an reality of existence for an Actual Purpose or to accomplish a Purpose is equivalent to something to restore good over evil and to restore Dharma, who is beginning-less, formless, endless energy of existence. As Sadasiva the non-manifested eternal power, destroys during Pralaya the qualities of Tamas i.e. destruction, darkness. After Pralaya he outshines in the light of glory bring forthwith the five elements of nature i.e. the Earth, Water, Fire, Wind and Space. At this point he is said to be beyond the forms of Purusha and Prakriti and exist in an unique form as Lord Maheswara, one who witnesses Creation, Sustenance, Dissolution, Re-birth and also nourishes all creations as a well-wisher and also decides the nature and work of creation as per his will, deed and pleasure. By the guidance of Lord Maheswara the trinities, Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu and Lord Rudra do the creative, preservative and dissolution duties of the universe. Worshiping Lord Maheswara "Strengthens" everlasting relationship between husband and wife, harmonious married life, bestows mercy, kind, compassion, protects his devotees from evil and bad energy, bestows high wisdom, knowledge, creative abilities, recover from losses, build new ventures, thoughts, ideas, boons for childless couples, good health, wealth and financial gains, grant joy, happiness, unending prosperity in life.
